Campus Life Coordinator

The Campus Life Coordinator performs tasks and provides high-level planning, organizing and delivery of extra-curricular programs for students. The Coordinator enhances student development and engagement through events and programming at the New Bern and Havelock campuses. This position helps to develop and sustain collegial relations with college faculty and staff to positively impact student engagement and leadership.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides excellent customer service and assistance to internal and external customers through walk-in, telephone and email
- Coordinates the overall activities of College student organizations; manages the needs and qualifications of clubs/organizations to enhance college-wide engagement
- Ensures clubs/organizations are in compliance with College policies and procedures
- Serves as coordinator and advisor to the Student Government Association and the Ambassador program
- Represents the College to prospective students and assists with institutional recruitment and retention efforts
- Creates student events and activities that are educational, social, cultural and interesting to the College's diverse group of students
- Creates materials to market events; ensures communication with students, faculty , staff and the community to ensure events are being noticed
- Maintains an updated student activity calendar and social media presence to include schedules of student workshops, on and off campus student activities and community events where the College is being represented
- Mentors student leaders and workers
- Develops and implements educational outreach programs focused on responsible citizenship, ethical development and making healthy choices
- Develops and publishes the student newsletter
- Participates in appropriate committees and task forces as assigned
- Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College's mission, core values and goals
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
Two (2) years' experience working with college students or in events management.

- Knowledge of student development practices and strategies
- Knowledge of conflict mediation and understanding of student conduct issues
- Knowledge of social media use and application
- Knowledge of advising practices and principles
- Knowledge of college policies and procedures, academic requirements, campus resources, student life and support services
- Knowledge of customer service principles
