Campus Security Officer – Havelock Campus

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Security Services, the Campus Security Officer is responsible for the security and safety of the College community, remaining alert to respond to emergency situations and provide first-line response and emergency management. This position is responsible for enforcing the College’s rules, parking and traffic regulations and providing other security and safety related services. This position also provides escort services and other basic public assistance services as needed. Incumbents in this position generally work alone on routine work assignments, checking in with the supervisor on non-routine assignments or when in doubt as to the correct procedure to follow.  The Havelock Campus is the appointed place of duty for this position and the hours may vary to include the evening shift.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two years full-time law enforcement, security, prison environment or other closely related experience

SALARY/BENEFITS

• Hiring range is $31,000.00 - $35,000.00
• Benefits include paid holidays, annual and sick leave, medical insurance, and participation in the N.C. State Retirement System
