Announcement Summary
Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this critical Grant Funded full-time position. Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexible work experiences and a willingness to change; be open-minded, fair, and possess the ability to see multiple perspectives; be willing to take and manage risks and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
Duties
The Career Coach will promote and facilitate career pathways at local high schools that include a systematic framework of Career & College Promise, articulated credit, and CTE programs of study at the College.
Work in collaboration with high school counselors, high school career development coordinators, High School Connections Coordinator, and Cumberland County Schools Career Pathways Coordinator, as well as members of the Fayetteville community.
Provide college and career advising, guidance in career pathways and registration assistance with enrollment in Career and Technical Education programs.
Maintain records for enrollment, tracking, and reporting purposes.
Participate in any college and school related activities in which CCP/CTE -career pathways can be promoted (e.g. Parent Nights), to help students and parents make informed decisions about career pathway options.
Represent the College weekdays, evenings, and weekends as required at community and outside organization functions including career days, special events and conferences; meet with educational administrators and instructors to exchange information and answer questions about career pathways, prepare and deliver presentations regarding College instructional programs, services and career pathways.
Provide intervention, advising, resources, and strategies for students in need of academic support.
Work with the Career and College advising team to ensure CCP and College enrollment goals are met and CTE career pathway materials and instructional supplies are disseminated.
Participate in team meeting and professional development activities as directed by the High School Connections Coordinator.
Engage students, counselors, faculty, parents, and all stakeholders in information sessions and events related to college success and CCP advising sessions related to CTE career pathway programs.
Maintain quality partnerships with secondary school personnel in collaboration with the High School Connections Coordinator.
Other duties as assigned by High School Connections Coordinator.
Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
