Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution. Have working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and ability to operate standard office equipment. Must be able to demonstrate qualities of professionalism, team building, excellent organizational skills and effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the minimum qualifications, experience working in an educational environment, working with diverse populations, and counseling or advising experience.
Position Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent will have the following duties & responsibilities:
- Provide and coordinate administration and interpretation of career assessments.
- Assist students with developing individual career plans through the promotion of career awareness, exploration, and planning.
- Provide career development, occupational, labor market, non-traditional career, and postsecondary information.
- Coordinate career planning activities in classrooms, groups, or individual sessions.
- Provide information and assistance with postsecondary education programs and employment opportunities.
- Assist students with the selection of appropriate academic and CTE high school and college courses offered by PSRC and RCC’s Career and College Promise Program to be implemented by the designated guidance counselor.
- Provide information and assistance with postsecondary education programs and employment opportunities.
- Facilitate work-based learning and pre-apprenticeship opportunities.
- Provide and coordinate activities for students to develop employability skills.
- Promote the use of technology for career planning and research.
- Facilitate business, education, and community partnerships that provide opportunities for students.
- Serve as a liaison with business, industry, education, and military communities.
- Publicize partnership resources such as the university transfer partnerships.
- Participate in professional development activities at the local, regional, state, and national levels.
- Engage in professional growth opportunities to remain current with trends, demands, and emerging careers in a rapidly changing workforce.
- Effectively maintain electronic and hardcopy files and all pertinent data.
- Provide required reports to supervisors on all activities and results.
- Maintain the integrity of the Robeson Community College and Public Schools of Robeson County.
- Represent PSRC and RCC professionally and handle all matters in a confidential manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
