Blue Ridge Community College is currently accepting applications for a Career Coach at our Transylvania County Campus. The purpose of this position is to assist high school students with determining career goals and identifying Blue Ridge Community College programs that would enable students to achieve those goals. The employee will spend approximately 50% of their time at Brevard High, 40% at Rosman, and 10% at Davidson River School.

Blue Ridge Community College is a two-year, comprehensive post-secondary institution serving Henderson and Transylvania counties in North Carolina. The College offers more than 100 programs of study, a wide range of college transfer courses, and one of the largest continuing education programs in the state. Its mission is to provide quality education and training opportunities that support student learning, enhance student advancement and success, and meet the workforce needs of the community.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a closely related field is required. A Master’s Degree is preferred.

Experience: Previous high school or community college teaching or counseling experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:
The ideal person will possess strong personal and professional integrity, effective verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to safety. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite or similar products, database systems, College email and website, and other computer applications associated with the position.

Physical Demands:
The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
