2. Two years of full-time or equivalent experience working with individuals with barriers to employment. ·

4. Marketing or recruiting experience with diverse populations.

Position Description
Job Description Summary
Serves as liaison between A-B Tech and local workforce and non-profit agencies to support individuals with employment barriers. Helps to place A-B Tech students and community members in training opportunities and local jobs. Works with the NC Works Asheville team to support and identify career and educational pathways for A-B Tech students enrolled in the program. Helps to develop, coordinate, maintain, and track educational and employment opportunities for clients. Completes reporting requirements as necessary for Mountain Area Workforce Development Board or other grant resources. Responsible for marketing workforce development and mentoring through various methods.
Duties
1. Assists students with the overall enrollment process, including basic financial aid information, placement test, and program admission processes.
2. Understands and interprets placement, college policies, procedures and degree requirements, and refers to campus services as necessary.
3. Serves as an A-B Tech representative in local workforce development groups and initiatives.
4. Mentors and tracks an approximate caseload of A-B Tech students and clients before and during training and after job placement.
5. Maintains tracking of scholarship worksheets and reporting.
6. Conducts thorough needs analyses and career assessments/interest inventories to understand client needs.
7. Connects students with career development services as necessary. Redirects students to more appropriate/better -fit programs of study based on results of career development services interactions.
8. Contributes to the overall success of the College by remaining competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development sessions, and attending training.
9. Develops community outreach plan and builds relationships with local college and community partners toward recruitment, including client advocacy and increased awareness.
10. Serves as an information resource and responds to inquiries from parents, students, faculty, and staff by maintaining knowledge of selective and limited program requirements and admission deadlines.
11. Provides employability and skills enhancement workshops.
12. Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and Welcoming College statement.
13. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
