Minimum Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree.
  • One year of experience in the development and delivery of adult education programs and services. 
  • Data and technology fluency. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education, Counseling, or related field.
  • Teaching experience, especially at the postsecondary level with multilingual and or novice writers.
  • Knowledge of College and Career Readiness programs, policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in designing and implementing strong data-informed cultures and the systems, processes and tools required to support them.
  • Experience with Blackboard, Ellucian Colleague, or ADVANSYS.
  • Bilingual.

Career Pathways Coordinators at Central Carolina Community College are responsible for the administration of all programs in the College and Career Readiness Department. The College and Career Readiness Department includes Adult High School (AHS), High School Equivalency (HSE), English as a Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), and Prison programs. This position reports to the Dean of Career and Academic Engagement.  

The College and Career Readiness Department at Central Carolina Community College provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in postsecondary education and training that lead to gainful employment. 

This position is open until filled.

This position may have occasional travel between campuses and for training. Occasional after hours may be required.

Essential Duties

  • Embrace the institutional goals of Central Carolina Community College by engaging students as full partners in the learning process, removing barriers to student progression, and supporting and assisting students in achieving their educational and career goals.
  • Engage students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders in the development of postsecondary career paths for CCR students.
  • Collaborate with department chairs and program directors responsible for postsecondary education and training courses to align student learning outcomes and facilitate career pathway progression.
  • Create a dynamic instructional environment that promotes and facilitates CCR students’ concurrent or post-exit enrollment in postsecondary programs of study or credential attainment. 
  • Design, implement, and maintain an effective student, faculty, and staff recruitment plan for all CCR programs.
  • Recruit, hire, orient, equip, and supervise departmental faculty and staff. 
  • Schedule classes, assign faculty, and collaborate with other program areas to ensure course offerings coincide with student needs. 
  • Respond to community and college needs by proactively identifying instructional sites and scheduling classes to serve designated populations.
  • Substitute teach classes when needed. 
  • Visit on-campus and off-campus CCR classes and submit monthly visitation reports. 
  • Oversee the selection of all departmental equipment, materials, and supplies and maintain inventory, ordering and restocking as necessary. 
  • Monitor budgets and use resources efficiently to support a program of sufficient intensity and quality to meet student success goals.   
  • Implement data-informed decision making strategies when planning program offerings. 
  • Maintain accurate records and regularly review program performance data to support continuous program improvement.
  • Ensure the program is compliant with state and federal policies and mandates.
  • Monitor measurable skills gains (MSGs) and other state and federal performance measures.
  • Support the development of grant-funded initiatives and deliverables.
  • Design and implement a plan for improving and tracking student recruitment, retention, and completion for all curricula within the department. 
  • Stay current in your discipline and renew industry credentials, as needed.
  • Celebrate student achievement at graduation ceremonies and other recognitions.
  • Assist in coordinating any building administration needs.
  • Serve on college committees as appointed.
  • Engage in a minimum of 5 hours of professional development each year.
  • Attend departmental, divisional, and collegewide meetings.
  • Cultivate a culture of care and advocacy through compassion, inclusion, opportunity, integrity, courage, and people.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
