Position Description
The Career Readiness Specialist performs a variety of professional, technical, and administrative tasks in administration of standardized ACT testing of students; and assisting with the processing and maintenance of Workforce Development Continuing Education scholarship programs.
The duties of the Career Readiness Specialist include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate standardized group and/or individual test administration; administer and/or coordinate academic, credential/certification testing; create and maintain testing reports
- Provide routine direction, information, and advisement to students and prospective students in regards to testing policies, procedures, and outcomes
- Coordinate NCRC testing-center operations including ordering and storing materials and setting up testing room and schedule
- Communicate professionally with local employers regarding the NCRC services
- Verify the proper functioning of all NCRC testing equipment and troubleshoot testing system errors
- Provide detailed analysis of participant information; provide critically important reporting and benchmarking to support and respond to the needs of the College
- Administer all NCRC testing for the College and surrounding satellite campus locations
- Conduct examinee check-in and all activities within the NCRC testing room
- Create student/faculty user accounts for the NCRC testing program and provide program orientation and support as needed to students and faculty
- Report and monitor student utilization and achievement by program
- Serve as resource to administrators, faculty, and staff users
- Maintain contact with NCRC associates and verify accuracy of all NCRC testing invoices
- Work on special projects including special data requests from administrators, faculty, and staff
- Respond to requests for information in an organized, efficient, and professional manner
- Use a variety of software packages including publishing software and MS Excel
- Track and analyze all CRC prep enrollees in all grant-funded programs
- Prepare, maintain, and distribute CRC participant tracking information as requested
- Track credentials for all CE workforce development departments; contact coordinators, instructors, and students to gain credentialing information
- Process and maintain Workforce Development Continuing Education scholarship programs
- Meet with prospective students to determine educational and career goals; register students for scholarships and refer them to appropriate coordinators
Qualifications

Working Conditions
- Duties are primarily performed at Lenoir Community College; occasionally, testing may be required at local businesses and satellite campuses
- Infrequently lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds
- Occasional travel to additional sites or buildings
