Education and Experience Requirements:
• Associate’s Degree is required
• 1-3 years of experience working with students in any non-profit, K-12 or higher education setting, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, required
• Career services or related experience preferred

Position Description

Job Summary:
The Career Services Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating the activities and operations of the career services program within Student Services and Continuing Education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide career development resources to students as they progress through their academic or continuing education program
• Administer career assessments and provide career exploration information to help students with career choices and prepare for a specific career
• Assist students concerning job opportunities, letter and resume writing, interview techniques, and job search strategies
• Pursue and promote recruitment relationships between business and industry employers and the college in an effort to enhance the job prospects for students
• Manage, maintain, and promote Mitchell online job search presence
• Host career fairs and trade shows in collaboration with college faculty, staff and regional industry employers
• Other duties as assigned

Related Responsibilities:
• Maintain current knowledge of employment trends
• Develop and present workshops and seminars for college students on various topics
• Monitor status of students completing degree, certificate or diplomas
• Coordinate career development brochures and website
• Other duties as assigned by the Vice-President of Student Services

Surroundings/Environment:
Standard office environment, usually indoors away from the elements, with moderate noise.

Physical Effort:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to maintain a stationary position for an extended period; move about the office, operate and position computers and files, as needed; and frequently communicate with others. The employee may occasionally move up to 15 pounds. Work may include operation of a motor vehicle.

Scheduling:
This is a part-time position. Monday through Friday; however, must be available to work occasionally on weekends and evenings.

Travel:
Local travel is required, including between campus locations. Out of state travel is limited, but may be required for special trainings/conferences.
