Minimum Qualifications

Education:

A Baccalaureate degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university is required. A Master’s degree is preferred. Degrees in education, counseling, and/or leadership are preferred.

Experience:

At least two years of increasingly responsible supervisory experience is desired. At least two years of experience with admissions, advising, or counseling at the secondary or postsecondary levels is desired. Experience across multiple areas is a plus. Candidates should display effective oral and written communication skills and demonstrate strong organizational and conflict-management skills.

Knowledge of:

  • Community college mission, policies, and procedures.
  • Community college student services including admissions, advising, and testing.
  • Curriculum program of study requirements/standards.
  • Principles and practices of budget preparation and administration.
  • Basic data analysis, statistics, and reporting skills.
  • Database fundamentals and certain computer application (spreadsheet, word processing) fundamentals.
  • Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Strategies and techniques for establishing accountability.

Ability to:

  • Provide leadership to areas of responsibility.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of subordinate staff.
  • Select, supervise, train, and evaluate staff.
  • Handle conflict in a professional manner.
  • Interpret and explain College policies and procedures.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Develop and administer goals and objectives.
  • Develop and document procedures and processes.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Identify/analyze issues, problems, concerns, and needs. Develop, plan and implement appropriate responses and solutions.
  • Research, analyze, and evaluate new service delivery methods and techniques.
  • Effectively handle a work environment and conditions which involve periodically working irregular hours.

Position Description

Manages and facilitates CCP enrollment and priority registration at the College through on-campus and off-campus course offerings.

Develops and maintains relationships with the College’s external secondary partners and explores opportunities to expand current offerings.

Develops and maintains relationships with the College’s academic deans, associate deans, department heads, and directors to assist with CCP program maintenance and growth in traditional college transfer pathways and also career and technical education (CTE) pathways.

Delivers orientation sessions to new and returning CCP students and training sessions to faculty and staff from our secondary partners and from the College.

Determines staffing needs and requirements; submits personnel requisition forms along with requests for job postings, as needed; assesses candidate qualifications; and serves on interview committees for staff hirings in areas of responsibility.

Selects, trains, motivates, and evaluates staff; provides or coordinates in-service training for staff; assists employees with corrective action plans, as necessary; and implements disciplinary and termination procedures according to due process.

Coordinates services with other campus departments, transfer destinations, and outside agencies; supports the development of articulation agreements with regional high schools, colleges, and universities.

Represents CCP Programming on various College councils and committees.

Attends and participates in professional group meetings and conferences and stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of dual enrollment; remains current on all state-level CCP guidelines.

Provides excellent customer service to students and employees of the high school and the College.

Provides responsible staff assistance to the Associate Dean of High School Programming.

Performs other duties, as assigned.
