Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree required. 1-2 years of experience working with school age students and proficiency in Word/Excel required.
The CCP Success and Retention Specialist is expected to be thoroughly familiar with the College, with the Career & College Promise program, specifically, and with the other programs and services offered at MCC. The person in this position must also be knowledgeable about a variety of regulations, policies, and procedures established by the College and by local, state and federal agencies. This individual must be able to competently deal with several ongoing tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
1-2 years’ experience in the North Carolina Community College System and knowledge of the Colleague/Ellucian system preferred.

The CCP Success and Retention Specialist will be responsible for recruiting, enrolling, registering, and retaining CCP students. The Coach will also assist the Director of Admissions and Retention with the management of Early College students and associated paperwork.
Essential Responsibilities
- Work closely with high school staff (principals, counselors, e-learning assistants, etc.) to promote the Career & College Promise Program and other MCC programs.
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with all high school staff.
- Develop and maintain a consistent, reliable, and visible presence on the high school campus.
- Coordinate and organize CCP information and orientation sessions.
- Ensure CCP students know how to access email, Blackboard the AVISO app, the help desk, and to rest their password.
- Help CCP students obtain their Student ID cards and parking stickers.
- Assist with career fairs, recruitment, and career awareness opportunities.
- Coordinate the development, publication, and dissemination of CCP information(CCP Handbook, information booklet, trial schedule, eligibility verification forms, course lists/schedule, posters, brochures, etc.).
- Assist high school staff with CCP advising; prepare and maintain a MCC advising file for each student in order to track the student’s progress toward completion of a pathway.
- Be knowledgeable of the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement and how it applies to CCP college transfer pathways.
- Assist with CCP registration; distribute and collect appropriate paperwork; confirm pathway/course eligibility.
- Work with MCC staff (Instructional Division and Bookstore) with book orders for the high schools.
- Collaborate with the library to assist with book orders for high school orders, distribution, and collection for CCP and Early College students.
- Provide daily technical assistance to CCP and Early College students in Blackboard, Email, etc.
- Serve as initial contact point regarding attendance, academic, or other issues between students, high school, and MCC; work closely with high school and MCC counselors.
- Monitor CCP and Freshman Early College students’ progress in their courses. Monitor courses in Blackboard to assist CTE instructors with student assignments.
- Send AVISO alerts to students and notify appropriate school staff. Follow up with the AVISO alerts and provide assistance if needed to those students.
- In conjunction with the Director of Admissions and Retention, develop and monitor a comprehensive communication plan and timeline for CCP prospective students, enrolled CCP, students who no longer meet eligibility requirements, and high school graduating CCP students including timely reminders about admissions, registration, and form submittal deadlines.
- Serve as a point of contact in the Career and Technical Education building for CCP students.
- Send MCC student notifications to CCP students using Blackboard.
- Maintain CCP Facebook Page.
- The CCP Success and Retention Specialist will work with all high schools – public, private, and home-school. As with all college employees, the Coordinator must represent Montgomery Community College in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current students, clients, suppliers, and the community we serve.
- Perform other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College’s mission, core values and goals.
