Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years painting experience
  • Minimum two years recent experience as an acrylic and/or oil painting
  • Experience delivering painting instruction to adult students
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in a classroom setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates in Painting, or Bachelor of Fine Arts of acrylic and/or oil painting

Position Description

GENERAL FUNCTION:

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to planning, preparing, and teaching lessons to a variety of students at different skill levels.  This instructor will fill 2 or more classes teaching acrylic and /or oil painting.  Portfolio is required.  This is a Part-time position.  Opportunities are available in adult program areas. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop lesson plans that are skill level appropriate over 6-8 week sessions
  • Prepare classroom setting and supplies for each weekly class
  • Instruct on all technical aspects of acrylic and/or oil painting
  • Coach participants to create successful, finished products
  • Implement safety and clean-up procedures established for the facility in keeping with OH&S standards
  • Assist in the distribution and collection of program evaluations
  • Attend in-services as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years painting experience
  • Minimum two years recent experience as an acrylic and/or oil painting
  • Experience delivering painting instruction to adult students
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in a classroom setting

 

PREFERRED:

  • Associates in Painting, or Bachelor of Fine Arts of acrylic and/or oil painting
