· Master’s degree in an appropriate teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in an appropriate teaching discipline from an accredited college or university
· Five (5) years evidence of successful higher education teaching experience, preferably in a community college setting, that includes demonstrated experience with curriculum design and evaluation and effective use of methods and technology to facilitate education
Preferred Qualifications
Three (3) years progressive leadership in a community college setting, with success in administration of programs to include strategic planning, budgeting, operations, and collaboration with colleagues

POSITION
Chair, Havelock Campus (12-months)
OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
Serving as an administrative and academic officer, the Chair, Havelock Campus assists with the development and administration of the Havelock Campus, including instructional vision, leadership, management and support for adjunct and curricula in support of College goals and objectives. In collaboration with chairs and deans of the New Bern campus, the Chair, Havelock Campus ensures efficiency in scheduling, student learning outcomes assessment, and curricular and programmatic initiatives. The Chair, Havelock fosters a high-quality environment of academic teaching and intellectual achievement, and creates and strengthens partnerships within and outside of the College. The Chair, Havelock Campus teaches two (2) courses per semester or as needed in an instructional area. This position provides operational management of the Havelock Campus in the absence of the Dean of Havelock Campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in an appropriate teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in an appropriate teaching discipline from an accredited college or university
- Five (5) years of successful higher education teaching experience, preferably in a community college setting that includes demonstrated experience with curriculum design and evaluation and effective use of methods and technology to facilitate education
SALARY/BENEFITS
- Hiring range is $60,000 - $66,000 annually
- Benefits include paid holidays, annual and sick leave, medical insurance, and participation in the N.C. State Retirement System.
