Minimum Qualifications

A Master’s degree in Chemistry or Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in chemistry is required.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. 

Preferred Qualifications

One to three years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is preferred.  Experience in teaching online courses is preferred.  Bilingual is preferred.

Position Description

The chemistry instructor is responsible for teaching an average of 18-22 contact hours per semester.  Instructional duties include teaching day and evening courses in general chemistry as well as related courses.  Laboratory responsibilities include instruction, facility supervision, ordering supplies, laboratory preparation and maintenance.  Additional duties include advising students, serving on committees, and participation in faculty meetings, convocation, graduation and recruitment activities.  Participation in student recruitment and retention, including College-wide marketing initiatives is required.
