Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related or position relevant field from a regionally accredited institution; Master’s degree preferred.   Five years of direct information technology management experience; prior work experience in higher education preferred.

Position Description

Responsible for the administration of all institutional computer services, the supervision of computer staff, the procurement of computer resources, effective administrative and instructional computing operations, and is responsible for developing and implementing the technology plan of NCC. Responsible for the overall operations of Institutional Effectiveness and supervises either directly or indirectly the activity within this area.

 

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Assess and implement computer administrative and instructional needs of NCC.
  • Ensure that institutional technology resources are operational.
  • Schedule computer installation and/or maintenance at times least disruptive to normal operations of NCC.
  • Determine the appropriate allocation, distribution, and installation of all technology resources.
  • Investigate price information, prepare requisitions, and approve technology-related purchase orders and recommend purchases in other departments to align with NCC IT policies and standards.
  • Ensure proper compliance with software licensing agreements.
  • Ensure secure administrative computing data practices and enforce established computer policies of NCC.
  • Ensure the VoIP telephone system is functional and issues are resolved.
  • Ensure network infrastructure supporting campus security cameras are functional and issues are resolved.
  • Manage budget allocations and make budget recommendations for subsequent years.
  • Maintain, revise, and update NCC IT Department Business Continuity Plan.
  • Maintain, revise, and update NCC Security Manual.
  • Maintain an ongoing security and risk awareness program.
  • Provide strategic leadership to maintain compliance with CIS Critical Security Controls.
  • Serve as the institutional representative in the NCCCS Chief Information Officers Association.
  • Verify, document, and maintain compliance with technology aspects of external regulations including Federal Trade Commission, Federal Student Aid, and PCI/DSS. 
  • Serve as the administrator/technical contact for various external technology services including Google Workspace, KnowBe4, Regroup, Zoom, NEOED, and Watermark. 
  • Provide design specifications and implementation oversight for instructional technology such as classroom A/V.
  • Create network design plans for capital projects and renovations.
  • Supervise the Dean of Research and Institutional Effectiveness to ensure reporting, accountability, assessment, and accreditation commitments of the institution are to college standards.
  • Serve on the Administrative Council.
  • Participate in committees, professional development, events, and other activities provided by NCC.
  • Maintain regular and consistent on-site attendance during normal hours of college operations in fulfillment of duties not inconsistent with the expectations for full-time employees and College policies and procedures.
  • Initiate and answer telephone calls and video conference calls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned which contribute to the efficient and effective operation of NCC.
  • Participate in and support ongoing assessment, planning and evaluation to improve student learning.
