The substitute teacher will lead the classroom by maintaining a high quality learning environment that meets licensing standards, and provides a student-centered environment that meets the mission and philosophy of the early childhood department.

Essential Duties
- Provide a positive, safe, and nurturing environment for children and be able to maintain an orderly, calm environment.
- Ensure that the program conforms to health, safety, and licensing regulations, at all times.
- Follow the established lesson plan to meet the individual needs of the children, with concern for their interest, development level, talents, and individual style and pace of learning.
- Be aware and consider individual children and families in relationship to their cultural and socioeconomic background.
- Treat all children and families with dignity and respect.
- Foster activities to help children become aware of their roles as integral members of a group.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Actively support the college’s vision of exceptional learning for all.
- Cultivate a culture of care and advocacy through compassion, inclusion, opportunity, integrity, courage, and people.
- Recognizing and respecting the variety of experiences and contributions represented by all of our students, employees, and community, the Child Care Substitute Teacher-Adjunct will encourage a learning environment where everyone is supported and valued for their unique perspectives and experiences and will foster and promote the participation of all members of our diverse communities.
