Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and 1 year of experience working in a childcare setting.

Satisfactory DHHS background/criminal records check; completion of CPR and First Aid, Playground Safety, and ITS-SIDS training upon employment.

Candidates must have a clearance letter from the North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education, possess a negative TB test, and provide proof of a recent physical medical exam.

Communication, both oral and written, skills are necessary. Must have experience in Microsoft Office Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Must be able to fully engage in physical activity. Must be able to kneel, stoop, sit on the floor, stand for a long time, demonstrate and engage in activities like jumping, dancing, walking, and running.

Must move objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds over a distance greater than 80 feet.

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Applicants not meeting the minimum requirements will not be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Birth-Kindergarten, or a related field, and one year of experience in a preschool or child care setting. Knowledgeable of teaching methods and techniques of child guidance, discipline, and practices as regulated by the North Carolina Division of Child Development.

Must have a North Carolina Class B Drivers License or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this full-time position. The ability to effectively plan and execute educational programs for children is critical to experiencing success in this position. Expertise in developmentally appropriate child care practices is essential. Duties

The successful candidate will:

Establish positive relationships with children, parents, staff, faculty, students, and general public.

Share information and involve parents in the care and education of their child.

Maintain accurate and confidential records on each child’s attendance, developmental progress that includes regular formal observations, assessment results, samples of child’s work and information shared by parents.

Maintain clean and orderly classroom.

Maintain accurate records of student participation and equipment accountability.

Model developmentally appropriate teaching techniques consistent with classroom training.

Maintain a safe, healthy, and attractive learning environment.

Perform other professional duties as requested by supervisor
