Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina is required. Must have two full years of prior full time employment or the equivalent in clinical nursing as a practicing Registered Nurse. Required to have experience in preparation in teaching and learning principles including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, or willingness to seek continuing education as required by the North Carolina Board of Nursing upon employment. Good oral and written communication skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
A Master’s degree in Nursing, or currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Nursing is preferred. Post-secondary teaching experience and bilingual are preferred
Position Description
The Adjunct Clinical Nursing Instructor will select clinical assignments for students that correlate clinical with theory; supervise students’ performance in a clinical setting; document students’ progress toward clinical competencies; and provide effective instruction when relating lab and clinical work to theory. Duties include submitting reports as required and maintaining clinical evaluation records; participation in curriculum development, revision, implementation, and evaluation; and performing other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
