Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina are required. Two full year’s prior full-time employment or the equivalent in clinical nursing practice as an R.N. is required. Preparation in teaching and learning principles including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation or willingness to seek continuing education as required by the NC Board of Nursing upon employment is required. Good oral and written communication skills required. Bilingual is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
A Master’s degree in Nursing, or currently enrolled in a Master’s degree in Nursing program is preferred. Post-secondary teaching experience and bilingual are preferred.
Position Description
Primary responsibilities include clinical, simulation, and lab instruction of nursing students in programs accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Additional duties include course planning, development, and evaluation. The Clinical/Lab Nursing Instructor will advise students, serve on committees, and participate in college activities such as professional development training. The Nursing Instructor will be responsible for continuing education required by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
