Minimum Qualifications
A Master’s Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor’s Degree and currently enrolled in the Nursing Master’s Degree program is required. A current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina is required. Preparation in teaching and learning principles including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation or willingness to seek continuing education as required by the North Carolina Board of Nursing upon employment within three years of employment are required. Qualified applicants must have two years full-time employment experience or the equivalent in Clinical Nursing as a practicing Registered Nurse. Must have demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills and be proficient with commonly used computer software.
Preferred Qualifications
Post-secondary teaching experience and bilingual are preferred.
Position Description
Primary responsibilities include clinical, simulation, and lab instruction of nursing students in programs accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. Additional duties include course planning, development, and evaluation. The Clinical/Lab Nursing Instructor will advise students, serve on committees, and participate in college activities such as professional development training. The Nursing Instructor will be responsible for continuing education required by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
