Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Informational Technology, Math, Statistics, Psychology, or related field; two years’ experience in data analysis or project management is required

  • Demonstrated work experience with the data analysis using MS Excel
  • Demonstrated work experience with TABE and CASAS; if candidate does not have work experience, must earn NCCCS credential

Position Description

The College and Career Readiness (CCR) Data Specialist is responsible for maintaining state and federal compliance reporting requirements. The position will provide technical assistance utilizing Literary Education Information System (LEIS), Elucian Colleague and Informer to support full-time staff and part-time instructors in all programs within CCR. The program includes: Adult Basic Education (ABE), Adult Secondary Education (ASE), Adult High School (AHS), English Language Acquisition (ELA).

The individual is responsible for maintaining student data and reports and submitting accurate monthly and annual data to meet state and federal reporting compliance requirements.

  • Provide customized reports utilizing data retrieval tools for state and federal agencies
  • Provide customized reports utilizing data retrieval tools for the department and institution
  • Assure compliance with state and federal reporting requirements
  • Provide supportive data assistance and training as needed to full-time and part-time instructors
  • Record daily input student LEIS information in Elucian Colleague
  • Record new and returning student registrations in Elucian Colleague
  • Process weekly, monthly, semester and annual data reporting for the CCR programs  
  • Provide technical support and analysis of program data to the CCR Director
  • Participate in Orientation and intake of students
  • Assist with pre- and post-testing of students
  • Work closely with the CCR instructors and staff to maintain accurate records and support documentation
  • Attend training at the regional and state level to assure compliance in Basic Skills data reporting for Elucian Colleague and Data Warehouse updates
  • Support HiSET Test Administer as needed during testing sessions
  • Assist HSE Test Administrator with test material inventory and shipping materials after testing
  • Serve as back up test administrator for HiSET
  • Execute Elucian Informer reports to monitor attainment of North Carolina Community College System goals and performance measures
  • Provide CASAS E-testing, paper based and TABE Class E
  • Monitor students who need to test
  • Create courses in Elucian Colleague
  • Provide office assistance
  • Serve on college committees, participate in staff development activities and professional organizations

Compliance Review and Reporting

  • Assist with the documentation required for compliance review and other state and federal reporting
  • Assist the Program Accountability Specialist (Non-Credit) with end of payroll verification and student attendance for ICR reporting purposes
  • Establish and maintain an accurate system of compiling all documentation for compliance review and other state and federal reporting
  • Train full-time and part-time instructors to meet documentation standards for state and federal reporting
