Position Description
This is a full-time, 12-month position in the Instructional Support & Student Services Division. The Wilkes Early College High School (WECHS) Liaison’s primary responsibility is to advise, support, and monitor WECHS students. The Liaison is a college employee and an integral part of the WECHS team. The Liaison collaborates with the WECHS principal and reports directly to the Director of College Access.
Job Duties:
1. Develop, support and work to maintain positive relationships between the Wilkes Early College High School (WECHS) and the community college.
2. Serve as primary information conduit between WECHS and the college.
3. Advise WECHS students and monitor their progress in college courses.
4. Communicate with WCC faculty about WECHS student progress; assist with vital checks.
5. Coordinate scheduling of college courses.
6. Organize registration processes for college courses and assist with college registration for WECHS students.
7. Monitor WECHS student progress towards graduation.
8. Conduct student meetings pertaining to college course success.
9. Complete graduation checkout processes for WECHS students.
10. Coordinate with disability services to provide accommodations for WECHS students.
11. Coordinate the use of college facilities and resources.
12. Participate in the student recruitment and selection process.
13. Serve on college and WECHS committees.
14. Assist with WECHS high school needs, including proctoring exams, attending and chaperoning events, supervising field trips and participating in school meetings and professional development.
15. Teach ACA 115 and ACA 122.
16. Assist with New Student Orientation in the summer.
17. Assist with other related duties as required/requested by supervisor.
