Minimum Qualifications
Degree or equivalent experience: Bachelor’s degree from a regional accredited institution
Years of experience: Two year of work experience in admissions or other student affairs programs within a higher education setting
Specialized training in: Must have a valid CDL driver’s license or be willing to obtain as a condition of employment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO ON A TYPICAL DAY:
The College Recruiter and Admissions Counselor is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment, communication, and outreach efforts to connect and assist prospective students with the admissions and enrollment processes. The College Recruiter and Admissions Counselor reports to the Director, Recruitment and Admissions and has the following responsibilities:
Participates in the enrollment management planning process by analyzing recruitment numbers and trends, providing recruitment reports, and recommending strategies and adjustments to the recruitment plan to meet enrollment management goals.
Develops an extensive calendar of regular on-and off-campus recruitment events, including high school visits, workshops, college fairs, and community events within the service area, utilizing promotional materials and institutional knowledge to engage with groups, individual students and partner with school counselors, administrators, and other constituents to increase enrollment.
Visits service area partners and agencies, including but not limited to Libraries, Davidson Works, and the Employment Security Commission, to connect with potential students and promote the College’s full array of programs and services
Utilizes the College’s enrollment van to provide ongoing, innovative promotion of College programs and services to the general public throughout the College’s service region.
Assists the Director of Recruitment and Admissions with academic program collaborations, working with Program Directors to develop recruitment plans and effective advertisement strategies to meet enrollment needs
Provides program information and career resources to prospective students, making connections with appropriate College departments and staff to assist students in decision making for admissions, including decisions related to special criteria programs.
Responsible for staying up-to-date on local, regional, and national trends in higher education and being informed on how to utilize the trends and best practices to adjust or enhance recruitment strategies for the greatest impact
Communicates regularly with prospective students, parents, and the community through an array of communication methods and recruitment strategies to raise awareness of the opportunities at the College and effectively move students through the enrollment funnel.
Assists the Director of Recruitment and Admissions in creating comprehensive communication plans for prospective students through the admissions funnel to continually inform, push toward next steps, and support the enrollment goals.
Assists potential students with the completion of the admissions applications, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and other enrollment related paperwork and/or processes.
Assists in the management of the CRM, keeping up-to-date records on prospective students, student inquiries, and applicants. Utilizes prospective student data to inform and develop best practices for prospective student communication and engagement, including the ability to more effectively increase awareness of programs and admissions requirements.
Collaborates with the Directors of Recruitment and Admissions and Marketing on the establishment of relevant promotional materials, social media content, and other advertisements.
In collaboration with the Director of Recruitment and Admissions, monitors the expenditure of money for recruitment efforts, and maintains budget records.
Maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.
Supports the mission, vision, and values of the College and attends College events and meetings.
Performs other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College.
