Required:
Master's degree in Communication, or a Master’s degree + 18 graduate credit hours in Communication from a regionally-accredited institution; experience teaching hybrid and web-enhanced courses, including knowledge of Moodle course management systems or similar LMS; the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with faculty, staff, students and others.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with community college teaching experience and familiarity with North Carolina Community College curriculum structure and processes.
Position Description
Teaching college level Communication courses at a variety of locations.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Teach curriculum courses in Communication in both the University Transfer and Associate in Applied Science degree areas. Courses are taught in traditional seated, online, and hybrid formats. Classes may be taught on the main campus or at area high schools. Other tasks will include the development of course plans and tests; identifying and assessing student learning outcomes; continuously improving instructional quality by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods; excellent communication skills with the student and the Department Head; maintaining accurate records of student work and attendance; grading and returning student work in a timely manner; counseling students regarding their grades and progress in the course; supporting the Department, Division, and College goals, and providing requested data in a timely manner.
