Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations, public affairs, media, journalism, English, or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in communications, public relations, or publicity work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Description

~GRANT FUNDED/TIME-LIMITED FULL-TIME POSITION~
~THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE STATE HUMAN RESOURCES ACT (EPA) per GS 115D-3~

This is a grant funded/time-limited exempt position. The position will be responsible for the development and coordination of Request for Proposal (RFP) for a marketing campaign, organize the review of proposals, and manage the selected vendor. Employee will create outreach campaigns for targeted demographics, as well as outreach campaigns for targeted industry clusters. This position also serves as a facilitator for the 2020 ApprenticeshipNC Conference by increasing the outreach to Business and Industry, as well as develop Conference event materials. The employee will maintain the ApprenticeshipNC website, compile relevant industry images, and expand the ApprenticeshipNC’s social media presence. They will develop communications required by the USDOL and provide all internal and external communications. The employee will work with Small Medium Enterprises (SME’s) to write Standard Operating Procedures.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ANDABILITIES:  Requires knowledge of communication and publication principles and techniques for disseminating information. Thorough knowledge of the methods of planning, writing, and editing publications is necessary. Detailed knowledge of, and experience with, maintaining an interactive website is essential. Must also have a considerable knowledge of communicating through various social media.  The ability to write according to correct English usage and accepted standards for publications, the ability to edit and analyze materials prepared by others, and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing is expected. Must be able to manage time effectively and be sensitive to project deadlines, as well as manage vendors to meet sensitive due dates.
