Position Description

The Communications Resource Specialist (CRS) coordinates the flow of information to prospects, applicants, and students for Admissions/Enrollment Management and for Recruitment. The CRS ensures that the communication flow chart established by the Lenoir Community College Recruitment Plan is operating efficiently.

The duties of the Communications Resource Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Tracking all prospective students from general interest through enrollment
  • Monitoring all letters and other materials generated in the communication flow for accuracy and updating as changes occur within the College
  • Communicating with Program Chairs concerning prospective students for their areas
  • Providing the wording to help create new interest publications for prospective students, applicants, and newly enrolled students so that Marketing can develop the graphics and lay-out
  • Printing letters daily, reviewing them for accuracy, and making any needed changes in letters or Datatel Colleague
  • Placing orders for materials needed to keep communication flow operational
  • Running queries needed for mailings
  • Creating labels for student folders
  • Disseminating information by using the telephone, mail services, and e-mail
  • Organizing and maintaining the student file system to include receiving applications, entering data in the Datatel Colleague system, making folders, receiving and scanning transcripts, and filing information in the folders
  • Greeting students and visitors and answer phones
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Admissions, Dean of Student Services, and Senior Vice President of Instruction and Student Service
