Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in education, counseling, human services, business administration, or a related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of experience.
- Knowledge of basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Ability to work independently with persons from diverse backgrounds is necessary

Position Description
Under the supervision of the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Community Education Coordinator will provide supervision and over-site of the Community Education Centers. This position will also assist students at those sites with defining long-term and short-term goals and career aspirations. The position also provides support, encouragement and guidance to students.
Examples of Duties:
Supervision and Oversite of the Community Education Centers
Supervise the community education centers, the program administrative assistant, and the Career Specialists at each center. Assure project goals are met, facilitate and organize activities at each Community Education Center, keep accurate and timely records and reports, attend relevant meetings and trainings, participate in on-going professional development activities, develop and submit monthly reports, manage program assessment and evaluation.
Facilitation the Community Education Center located on the main campus of Halifax Community College

Support Students
Provide case management for participants enrolled at the Community Education Centers, collaborate with Halifax Community College's Academic Divisions to setup classes for students at each site, collaborate with Halifax Community College's Student Services Division to provide services at each site, and collaborate with community resources to support students.
Promotion and Recruitment for the Community Education Centers
Engage the community that each center serves with the services, opportunities, and classes offered, identify and actively attend community events to promote the centers, facilitate the development of promotional material for the centers, recruit students to participate in the services, opportunities, and classes offered at the sites
Other duties as assigned.
