Minimum Qualifications
An Associate’s degree in Computer Integrated Machining, Manufacturing, or Industry related field is required. Must have good oral and written communication skills and be proficient with computer software.
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Integrated Machining, Manufacturing, or Industry related field is preferred. Three to five years of practical work experience in the machining industry; industrial and job shop experience; and the equivalent combination of teaching experience are preferred. Bilingual is preferred.
Position Description
The Computer Integrated Machining Instructor is responsible for teaching courses in Machining Technology and other related areas which include day and evening classes; designing and implementing learning strategies for students; developing course syllabi and instructional materials; maintaining instructional records; developing and evaluating course and program learning outcomes. Duties include public relations, recruiting for the Computer Integrated Machining Technology program and other programs within the Industrial Technologies Department and Applied Technologies Division. The Instructor will advise students; participate in departmental and other college meetings; and serve on various committees. Other duties include coordinating the curriculum through interaction with the program advisory committee and employers; supervising students in cooperative education; assisting graduates with job referral; representing the college with educational agencies and the community at large; and performing all other duties as assigned. Candidate must have a high energy level and professional presence to develop quick rapport with faculty, employers, and students and will act as the liaison between the college and local industry.
