Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in computer-related field.
·One year experience in Microsoft Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
·One year hardware and software maintenance and repair
·One year experience with anti-virus protection and management

Preferred Qualifications

·Bachelor's degree in computer-related field.
·One year experience with Microsoft Office software including PowerPoint, Access, and OneNote.
·A+ Certification
·Net+ certification
·One year audio visual equipment experience, including sound experience
·One year Apple Macintosh computer experience

Position Description

Working under the direct supervision of the Director of Information Technology Services, the Computer Support Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of all designated RCC computers and classroom instructional technology and virus management for the college.  The Computer Support Specialist is also the primary backup for the network infrastructure.

Duties

  • Configure and install all RCC computers and classroom instructional technology equipment.
  • Coordinate, repair, and perform maintenance and upgrades on instructional lab computers.
  • Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance on the instructional technology equipment.
  • Provide PC anti-virus protection and virus management for the college.
  • Serve as a technical contact for college events.
  • Assist the Help Desk Coordinator with coordinating the planning, acquisition, and installation of the college's class and meeting room instructional equipment
  • Assist the Director of Information Technology Services with the computer equipment, instructional technology equipment, and the software inventories of the college.
  • Assist the Network Administrator with network infrastructure maintenance and upgrades.
  • Serve as the primary backup for the computer service request system and the remote locations.
  • Create and conduct end user training as needed.
  • Provide assistance to faculty and staff with the procurement of computer hardware and software.
  • Participate in departmental planning and development.
