Two-year Computer Information Technology degree or equivalent combination of education and computer repair and software configuration job-related experience. Verifiable language skills, mathematical skills, and reasoning ability.

Position Description

Assist in the support of the Technology Services division in daily operational services of PC hardware, software, audio-visual, telecommunication, printing, and end-user support needs. Perform daily hands-on tasks to ensure proper operation of associated hardware, software, and related technologies.
This position will have direct access to confidential information that should not be disclosed directly or indirectly to others for any other purpose than to perform the essential duties of this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Provides setup and configuration of computing peripherals such as printers, CD and DVD read/writers, monitors, scanners, mice, special keyboards and other equipment as necessary.
• Provide setup and configuration of audio-visual peripherals such as smart technologies, cameras and other equipment as necessary.
• Installs and configures applications on computers as required.
• Troubleshoots computer and peripheral issues and provides hardware replacement, cleaning or repair as needed.
• Performs hands-on fixes at the desktop level including installing and upgrading software, implementing file backups and configuration of systems and applications.
• Performs security and patch updates as necessary.
• Assists in maintaining compliance, paperwork, scanning of equipment and assignment of software licensing to ensure up-to-date records and audit requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance of hardware and software components as required to ensure continuous daily operation of college systems.
• Answers and responds to Help Desk calls and support requests and logs name, department, contact, and issue(s).
• Perform post-resolution and follow-up to calls and support requests.
• Ensure work order requests are completed in a timely manner.
• Provide end user support and assistance as requested to support departmental services, programs, and initiatives.
• Ability to prioritize and schedule work duties.
• Works closely with both technical and non-technical staff and is required to communicate effectively with both.
• Coordinate with other technicians and Technology Services staff in support of College initiatives.
• Interact with faculty, staff and students to answer questions concerning access and use of College resources.
• Provides daily operational technology related support services to all College campus locations as needed.
• Provide technical support on nights, weekends, special events, holidays and system emergencies as needed.
