Position Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under the general supervision of the Director or Multicultural Workforce Development, the applicant must demonstrate mastery of current technical application skills as an experienced Electrical Technician.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaching, present material, use equipment safely
- Ensures that all necessary documents are kept current and delivered in a timely manner
- Ensures that accurate and current materials are being used in the classroom
- Prepares and updates materials/outlines for adult learning styles
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Confidentiality is extremely imperative. Brunswick Community College follows FERPA guidelines
Must be able to teach:
- Electrical Safety and the National Electrical Code
- Device Boxes, Hand Bending, Raceways & Fittings, Conductors and Cables
- Basic Electrical Construction Drawings
- Residential and Commercial Electrical Services, Electrical Test Equipment
- Alternating Current Motors: Theory and Application
- Electrical Lighting, Conduit Bending, Pull and Junction Boxes
- Conductor Installations, Cable Tray, Conductor Terminations and Splices
- Grounding and Bonding, Circuit Breakers and Fuses
- Control Systems and Fundamental Concepts
- Motor controls, etc
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Licensed Electrical Contractor
- Vocational 2-year degree in Electricity or 4 year Electrical Engineering BS.
