- Current Qualification as Fire Fighter through NC OSFM
- Current Qualification as a Fire Instructor II through NC OSFM
- Minimum of two years of employment in the fire service field
- Creativity and openness to change
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills and commitment to the use of technology in instruction
- Ability to work effectively and collegially with other in a team environment
- Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The part time Continuing Education (CE) CCP fire faculty position is available to teach in the CE CCP fire program at Davie High School. Courses are generally held during the school day however an evening or weekend class may be scheduled. This position reports directly to the Coordinator, Fire Continuing Education and has the following responsibilities:
- Promote College mission, vision and values
- Teach assigned courses on the Davie County High School campus and other possible locations to meet program needs, including, but not limited to day, evening, and weekend
- Ensure that each class session contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency
- Evaluate student progress and provide appropriate, timely feedback
- Provide and/or facilitate quality experiences in the classroom and practical setting to meet program needs
- Develop course syllabi and provide appropriate written information to students concerning course evaluation and criteria
- Incorporate appropriate instructional technology to enhance student learning
- Assist in the evaluation of courses and programs
- Prepare and submit instructional records, reports and grades established by institutional policy
- Maintain sanitation standards of instructional and lab areas
- Attend appropriate College and School meetings
- Assist in student recruitment and retention
- Maintain accessibility to students, faculty and staff
- Participate in professional development to enhance instructional and technical skills
- Perform other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College.
