Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in any Health Science, Public Health, Business Administration, Project Management, or related degree, AND
  • Two years of experience with program accreditation or with the standards and survey processes similar to higher education accreditation, OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to implement innovative practices and strategies around retention and student success.
  • Exceptional project management skills, which include managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in a diverse community.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in any Health Science, Public Health, Business Administration, Project Management, or other disciplines related to health science or professional services.
  • Two years' experience working at a community college or university.
  • Direct experience with health science program accreditation.

The primary responsibilities of the Coordinator of Accreditation, Enrollment, and Retention are to work collaboratively with the dean, faculty, and staff to ensure the quality and integrity of accreditation processes, increase enrollment, and increase retention in the programs within the division.

Essential Duties

 

Accreditation Duties:

  • Assist the dean with setting program accreditation goals.
  • Ensure that each program meets the required programmatic standards as defined by the individual accrediting bodies and that appropriate documentation exists for these standards.
  • Track the current status and accreditation timeline for each program to include submitting documentation, site visits, annual fees, and all other key dates within the accreditation cycle.  
  • Continually monitor progress toward identified goals and objectives to support initial accreditation or reaccreditation of the programs within the division.
  • Provide technical and professional guidance, consultation, and support to faculty, staff, college administrators, and other related personnel regarding the college's progress toward program accreditation and other related activities.
  • Collaborate with department chairs and program directors to prepare draft documents and correspondence for review by college administration.
  • Edit, review, and ensure accurate completion and timely submission of all required accreditation documents for the programs in the division. 

Enrollment Duties:

  • Assist the dean with setting program enrollment goals.
  • Assist in the planning, evaluation and continual improvement of recruitment and enrollment strategies for the division.
  • Collaborate with other units of the college, including Onboarding and Advising and Onboarding and Outreach to develop comprehensive recruitment, enrollment, and onboarding strategies.
  • Identify enrollment barriers and implement strategies to increase enrollment in low enrolled programs.
  • Establish outreach practices that contribute to the enrollment of students from diverse backgrounds, particularly those from minoritized populations.
  • Engage with and support students enrolled in General Occupational Technology programs to increase application and acceptance rates to competitive programs.

Retention Duties: 

  • Assist the dean with setting program retention goals.
  • Work directly with department chairs and program directors to maximize the retention of students.
  • Identify and recommend to the dean new and revised strategies to maximize enrollment and retention of new and returning students and assist in implementing and evaluating these strategies.
  • Develop and monitor metrics used to assess, plan, implement and evaluate strategies for meeting admission and retention goals.
  • Demonstrate and support strategies that contribute to the engagement and development of students from diverse backgrounds, particularly those from minoritized populations.
  • Monitor student advancement toward degree completion and graduation rates and report this information each semester to the division.
  • Collaborate with other units of the college, including the Institutional Effectiveness and Research department in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data.

Other Duties: 

  • Embrace the college’s values by continuously looking for ways to cultivate a culture of care and advocacy through compassion, inclusion, opportunity, integrity, courage, and people. 
  • Collect, analyze, and compile comprehensive statistical and narrative data and prepare assessment reports to summarize findings for accreditation, enrollment, and retention initiatives within the division.
  • Participate in department meetings, advisory board meetings, accreditation meetings, accreditation site visits, division meetings, graduations, and other college meetings and activities as requested.
  • Serve on at least one college committee.
  • Complete the five-hour professional development requirement annually.
  • Plan, develop, and implement various special projects as assigned.
  • Regular travel to other sites and campuses within the service area of Chatham, Harnett, and Lee counties is required.
