Minimum Qualifications

Education:

An Associates Degree is required 

Experience:

A minimum of 2 years combined full or part-time experience in standardized test administration preferably in an educational setting and preferably including exposure to Pearson VUE/GED, ATI TEAS, CASAS and/or placement testing programs as well as some experience working in a student services educational setting.

Position Description

DEFINITION

Assist the Director of Admissions and Testing Services by coordinating and administering the testing program for the college including ATI TEAS testing, Pearson VUE/GED testing, placement testing and performing technical tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility and also administer assigned admissions related functions.  

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receive direction from the Director of Admissions and Testing Services

May exercise functional and technical supervision over testing technicians, admissions clerical staff, and work study students.

 

Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

 

ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTION STATEMENTS - Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

Essential Functions:

Coordinate the planning and delivery of testing services including test scheduling, test administration preparation, test administration, test processing, delivery of test results and transcripts, and other related testing services.

Coordinate the implementation of departmental goals and objectives; establish schedules and methods of providing testing services; implement testing policies and procedures as directed.  Act as primary source testing information for students, faculty, staff, and the general public.

Maintain testing related records and materials, maintain testing reports, provide special reports as requested by the Director.

Fulfill other admissions related tasks as assigned or needed including but not limited to maintaining and administering certain admissions reports, providing admissions support for prospective students or applicants by phone, email, or in person, providing admissions guidance for other departments, faculty, or staff, assisting with admissions related outreach efforts, 

Other Important Functions:

Monitor testing program practices for compliance with laws, rules and regulations regarding the provisions of the testing program and related services, and follow procedural best practices and requirements related to test administration and records maintenance.  

Maintain awareness of new developments in the field of test administration and incorporate new developments as appropriate into testing programs as directed.

Monitor and inspect testing facilities; schedule maintenance and secure facilities; schedule usage of testing facilities for activities including test registration and administration. 

Perform other admissions related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

Standard best practices and operating procedures for administering standardized tests in an educational or institutional setting.

Standard enrollment processes related to community college admissions requirements.

Developments and resources related to testing services provided at CFCC

Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and safety regulations.

Modern office equipment and office software preferably with experience using student information systems or other institutional information systems and proprietary testing software.

Ability to:

  • Understand and follow departmental and division policies and procedures and pertinent State Education and Administrative codes, policies, and procedures.
  • Supervise, organize, train, and evaluate the work of testing technicians, clerical staff,and work study staff.
  • Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for
    making observations
    reading and writing 
    communicating clearly and concisely with others 
    operating assigned equipment
  • Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:
    standing or sitting for extended periods of time
    operating assigned equipment
  • Maintain mental capacity which allows the capability of:
    making sound decisions
    demonstrating intellectual capabilities
    communicating clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
    establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including students, faculty, staff, and members of the public.
