Position Description
Description: The Coordinator of Business and Workforce Training, Davie Campus is a part-time position responsible for providing training programs within Davidson and Davie counties. This position is primarily located at the Davie Campus in Mocksville, NC and is designed for the specific purposes of overseeing the day to day management of programs designed to train individuals for employment, upgrade skills of presently employed individuals, and re-train individuals for employment in different occupational fields. In addition, this position will represent Davidson-Davie Community College within the business, workforce development, and economic development communities. The Coordinator of Business and Workforce Training, Davie Campus reports directly to the Division Chair, Business and Workforce Training.
Essential Job Functions:
- Researches new program offerings and identifies employer needs in the Davidson-Davie service areas of Davidson and Davie Counties, focusing heavily on Davie county
- Identifies feasible occupational extension course offerings, sets up courses, selects textbooks, facilitates development of course syllabi, and evaluates course and instruction
- Hires and orients instructors
- Coordinates classes to offer for the Davie county community
- Assists in the development of marketing materials and in marketing programs to the community
- Promotes instructional approaches to foster student learning and effective teaching
- Develops and maintains relationships with companies, businesses, as well as state and county agencies
- Orders and maintains supplies needed for courses
- Participates with other coordinators and directors in program planning
- Ensures all policies and procedures for internal and external auditing plans are met
- Maintains currency with local, state and federal guidelines
- Participates in College and School meetings
- Works some evenings and weekends as required by job responsibilities
- Maintains high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds
- Assists the Division Chair, Business and Workforce Training in supporting projects for local industries
- Works with the Workforce and Community Engagement team to meet the needs of business, industry, and communities
- Performs other duties as assigned that achieve the mission and initiatives of the college
- Supports the mission, vision, and values of the College and attends College events and meetings.
