Position Description
POSITION
Coordinator, College and Career Readiness (ABE and HSE)
OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
The College and Career Readiness Coordinator- ABE and HSE is responsible for coordination of the Adult Basic Education (ABE) and High School Equivalency (HSE) programs within College and Career Readiness. The Coordinator plans, develops, organizes, monitors and evaluates curricula, classes and activities to increase literacy and prepare adults for employment and/or post-secondary education entry. This position is responsible for training, managing and evaluating staff that work in assigned programs. The College and Career Readiness Coordinator- ABE and HSE is also responsible for instructing First Step classes and advising students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution
- Two (2) years’ of adult instruction or high school level experience
SALARY/BENEFITS
- Hiring range is $38,000. - $42,000.
- Benefits include paid holidays, annual and sick leave, medical insurance, and participation in the N.C. State Retirement System.
