Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree;
2. Two years of full-time or equivalent work experience in communications or marketing.

2. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.

Job Description Summary

We are looking to fill this position immediately; start date:  As soon as possible

Serves as part of communications and marketing team responsible for implementing the college’s total marketing and communications program, including public relations, media relations, digital media, publications, advertising, and general marketing and promotion of college activities and events to internal and external audiences.


1. Assists with the public relations of A-B Tech and its news, programs, and other content.
2. Supports the College’s Branding, Marketing and Communications policy by assisting with reviews of print and digital content, events, and other public communications on behalf of A-B Tech.
3. Writes news releases and distributes them to the media and maintains news archives.
4. Engages targeted audiences via social media accounts and contributes to digital content through writing, interviews, photos, videos, and events.
5. Writes and distributes monthly employee e-newsletter, weekly student e-newsletter, and edits various department e-newsletters.
6. Updates news and program content on website through content management system and inputs information for college events web calendar.
7. Works with web team and content editors to optimize web copy for search engine optimization (SEO).
8. Copywrites and edits fliers, brochures, magazine, annual reports, and other publications.
9. Assists with various college activities, such as awards nominations, events, and committees.
10. Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement.
11. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
