A.A.S. in Cosmetology from an accredited institution and three years documented experience as a Cosmetologist; current Cosmetologist license and Cosmetology Teacher license from North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners; demonstrated teaching skills; demonstrated artistic manipulative skills in Cosmetology; Computer skills including Word, Excel and Power Point; and CEUs and/or advanced education in Cosmetology.
Preferred: Pivot Point/Milady training; five years of experience in Cosmetology; current working knowledge of salon management software such as Discovery Pro; and prior teaching experience in Cosmetology.
Provides instruction to fulfill requirements of the NC State Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners and the North Carolina Community College System. Models world-class service in a simulated salon environment. Advise students. Choose/recommend textbooks. Monitors inventory of supplies; maintains safety and sanitation measures to meet North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners requirements. Maintains awareness of budget and department needs. Monitor programs and courses and implement changes as needed. Initiate curriculum updates and revisions. Supervises all cosmetology programs including Esthetics, including full and part time faculty and students. Recruit Adjunct Instructors. Develop and maintain relationships with salons to encourage graduate employment.
