Minimum Qualifications

 Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, media arts, graphic design or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution; or any combination of education, experience, and training that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position will be considered.
  • Three (3) years’ experience strategizing, overseeing, and directing marketing initiatives across various platforms such as print, digital, and social media marketing/advertising, as well as graphic design, market research, website maintenance, and photography/videography.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining marketing materials and website content that aligns with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.
  • Possession of and ability to maintain a valid driver's license. 

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Marketing experience within a community college setting.
  • Experience in web design.

Position Description

Position Summary

Under general supervision, the Marketing Coordinator is responsible for executing and overseeing impactful marketing campaigns and strategies that are in line with the College's mission. The Coordinator supports the day-to-day functions of the marketing department and actively collaborates with internal and external College stakeholders to enhance marketing effectiveness. Builds and maintains strong internal and external relationships and delivers exceptional customer service to ensure the success and visibility of marketing initiatives. Reports directly to the Vice President, Institutional Advancement and does not exercise supervision of personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Vice President of Institutional Advancement in implementing effective marketing campaigns, tracking and reporting campaign outcomes, managing media buying efforts, and overseeing the College’s public website.
  • Manage both internal and external marketing projects, encompassing digital marketing (public website, electronic signs, internal televisions), social media marketing, and print marketing.
  • Develop marketing campaigns tailored to meet the needs of various departments and groups across campus while ensuring brand consistency for the College.
  • Create diverse marketing materials including scripts, logos, billboards, brochures, flyers, invitations, social media ads, print ads, and digital graphics.
  • Coordinate photo and video shoots for marketing purposes and maintain a comprehensive photo and video database.
  • Compose, edit, and create content for the college website and various publications, including the college catalog, scripts, external newsletters, annual reports, alumni publications, program-specific promotional materials, graduation materials, and program information.
  • Stay updated on marketing trends, conduct market analyses, and maintain campaign analytics, deliverables, and target demographic reports.
  • Manage marketing contracts to ensure timely delivery of services within budget and contract specifications.
  • Submit marketing purchase orders; follow all division, College, and the State procurement guidelines and requirements; track and monitor delivery of purchases
  • Collaborate respectfully with various internal and external stakeholders including instructors, program chairs, division chairs, administration, students, vendors, donors, and the general public.
  • Provide guidance and assistance on marketing matters; respond promptly to inquiries with exceptional customer service; offer graphic design, photography, branding and marketing support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist the part-time Print Shop Technician with the printing and fulfillment of marketing materials and print requests as directed by the supervisor.
  • Lead and coordinate marketing and promotional activities for both internal and external events affiliated with the College; facilitate pre-event coordination, setup, breakdown, and on-site logistics either independently on behalf of the College or in collaboration with partner entities representing MCC at the event; collaborate closely with different institutional departments to identify marketing prospects; ensure MCC representatives are equipped with sufficient and relevant marketing materials and resources.
  • Support special projects, college events, or other assigned activities as requested by the supervisor.
  • Uphold high ethical standards and professional accountability while representing the College; maintain confidentiality of relevant information.
  • Provide marketing support to various College committees; conduct research and devise marketing strategies tailored to committee objectives.
  • Travel within the College’s service area and contiguous counties to enhance College visibility and engagement for marketing-related assignments.
  • Evaluate ongoing technology and media requirements and propose enhancements as needed.
  • Attend MCC graduations and ceremonies, acting as the official photographer and/or videographer; promote these events to campus, external stakeholders, social media platforms, and printed media.
  • Direct all external media inquiries and requests for public information to the supervisor; respond to external inquiries and requests as permitted by the supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
