A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, communications, education or related area. Resume of experience should reflect strong communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills; superior organizational, data entry and document design skills; and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite™ (particularly Word and Excel). Applicant must have excellent human relations skills and be able to work with a variety of individuals (students, instructors, administration, and the general public). Advanced computer skills required, including Microsoft office software (Excel, Access and Word), budget, and database management. Weekends, evenings, and occasional overnight travel are part of the work schedule for this position.
Recruiting experience would be helpful. Good analytical skills, attention to detail, the ability to communicate effectively, good organizational skills, and the ability to work with deadlines are essential.
This is a full-time, twelve-month position in the Student Services division and will report to the Director of Admissions.
Job duties will include the following:
• Coordinate recruiting activities for curriculum programs, including:
a) Analyze data and trend research to enhance recruitment and admissions and develop new markets.
b) Develop, manage and implement a data-driven comprehensive recruitment plan.
c) Understand and help manage the admission process.
d) Develop a plan to improve the way we communicate and present ourselves to prospective students, via web, social media, email, and mail.
e) Plan, schedule, and present activities to promote Wilkes Community College in the public schools, such as the Senior Presentations, College Day, High School Counselor Luncheon, College Carnival and individual meetings with students.
f) Coordinate campus tours.
g) Coordinate WCC participation in CACRAO college fair events and other community activities.
h) Evaluate effectiveness of recruiting events and materials.
i) Work closely with the academic divisions, career coaches, and Director of Career & College Promise to fully understand programs, transfer options and career opportunities.
j) Collaborate with the marketing department to design and produce recruiting publications, including overview booklets, academic plan books, fact sheets, and brochures.
k) Serve as co-chair of the college access/recruiting committee.
• Assist with recruiting and enrollment activities for the Career and College Promise program.
a) Assist as needed with advising, placement testing, and orientation for CCPstudents in the service area high schools.
b) Serve as a member of the college access team.
• Assist with various activities in the Student Services Office, including:
a) Serve as the lead advisor of the WCC Student Ambassadors.
b) Advise and register students.
c) Provide placement test interpretations.
d) Conduct meetings with students who do not meet academic progress standards at the end of each semester.
e) Assist with new student orientation.
• Serve as a member of college-wide committees as requested
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and Dean of Student Services.
