Minimum Qualifications
An Associate’s degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution is required. At least three to five years of professional-level experience is required, preferably working in a post-secondary education environment. Work experience in a military environment and prior knowledge of Tuition Assistance preferred. Advising and working with students and faculty from diverse backgrounds, and using Colleague, Self-Service, or similar institutional information-sharing systems is preferred. Must be able to obtain clearance to access Seymour Johnson Air Force Base (SJAFB) based on SJAFB guidelines. Must be a self-starter, and a team player, and have a demonstrated ability to work well with others.
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree is preferred. A National Career Readiness Certificate and bilingual in English and Spanish are preferred.
Position Description
The responsibilities include coordinating the college’s educational program at SJAFB and aiding the College Transfer Advising Center (main campus). The Coordinator will assist with advising and monitoring the academic progress of active duty and college transfer students to ensure completion of degrees. Duties include working with students, faculty, staff, and SJAFB personnel. This position will adhere to the agreement outlined in the SJAFB Memorandum of Understanding. The candidate will perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the College Transfer Advising Center Director.
