Minimum Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience: Bachelor’s degree from a regional accredited institution
- Years of experience: Two years of work experience in student affairs or academic programs within a higher education or workforce development setting
- Specialized training in: Must have a valid CDL driver’s license or be willing to obtain as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Years of experience: Three years of work experience in student affairs or academic programs within a higher education or workforce development setting
- Specialized training in: Fluent Spanish speaking and writing skills
- Experience with social media and web content
- Experience utilizing a Client Relationship Management System (ex. Slate, Recruit, TargetX, etc.)
Position Description
The Coordinator, Special Admissions and Campus Outreach reports to the Director, Recruitment and Admissions and is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment, communication, and outreach plans to connect prospective students with the College. Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, schools, and the community, the Counselor provides leadership and designs avenues for prospective students to learn about and enroll in College programs. The Counselor is a twelve-month position and has the following responsibilities.
Communicates with and provides outreach for prospective students, parents, high schools, business organizations, community groups, and other constituencies through an array of recruitment events, workshops, and fairs, utilizing recruitment strategies and promotional materials to encourage participation, stimulate interest, and coordinate recruitment strategies and events
Addresses questions, requests feedback, and resolves any problems from schools, community leaders and/or prospective students promptly and thoroughly
Conducts oral presentations for high school groups, college fairs, and other community events and groups to encourage enrollment
Provides program information and career resources to prospective students, making connections with appropriate College departments and staff to assist students in decision making; promotes campus tours
Continually monitors the progress of prospective students through the funnel to address and modify recruitment and communication strategies to support enrollment goals
Assists prospective students with the completion of the admissions applications, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and other enrollment-related paperwork and/or processes, especially those pertaining to the competitive entry program requirements
Manages the use of the College’s recruitment van, primarily by the College Recruiter, to provide ongoing innovative and non-traditional promotion of College programs and services to the general public throughout the College’s service region
Assists the Director of Recruitment and Admissions in creating comprehensive communication plans for prospective students through the admissions funnel to continually inform, push toward next steps, and support the enrollment goals
Develops and distributes Davidson-Davie Admissions Newsletter to the high schools and community businesses within the service area
Promotes the recruitment program among College faculty and staff, eliciting ideas, support, and participation in recruitment activities
Responsible for staying up-to-date on local, regional, and national trends in higher education, as well as best practices for recruitment and engagement in admissions to inform, adjust, and/or enhance recruitment strategies for the greatest impact
Participates in the enrollment management planning process by analyzing recruitment numbers and trends, providing recruitment reports, and recommending strategies and adjustments to the recruitment plan to meet enrollment management goals
In collaboration with the Director of Recruitment and Admissions, monitors the expenditure of money for recruitment efforts, and maintains budget records
Assists in the management of the CRM, keeping up-to-date records on prospective students, student inquiries, and applicants. Utilizes prospective student data to inform and develop best practices for prospective student communication and engagement, including the ability to more effectively increase awareness of programs and admissions requirements
Contributes to and assists in the management of the Recruitment and Admissions engagement calendar which includes email, text, and phone communications, events, and other engagement activities/sessions
Manages and coordinates group campus visits, annual community events, and other on-campus recruitment efforts, including, but not limited to the College’s annual Open House and Counselor Breakfast. Collaborates with Student Life and Ambassadors to promote tours and engage with campus visitors
Collaborates with the Directors of Recruitment and Admissions and Marketing on the establishment of relevant promotional materials, social media content, and other advertisements
Collaborates with Deans, Division Chairs, and Program Directors for competitive entry admissions programs, including but not limited to conducting recruitment campaigns, reviewing applications and determining acceptance. Ensures admissions processes and procedures are administered effectively, efficiently, and equitably for the benefit of students and the programs.
Collaborates with the Director of High School Partnerships and Initiatives to support and promote the Career and College Promise (CCP) program
Collaborates with the Talent Search and Upward Bound staff, as necessary, to ensure a seamless connection with students who choose DDCC as a post-secondary option after high school graduation
Maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.
Supports the mission, vision, and values of the College and attends College events and meetings
Performs other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College.
