Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, AND
  • Two year's experience in student services or in a related field, OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.  

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Strong understanding of career and technical education programs
  • Understanding of needs of local industry 
  • Ability to assist students choose and navigate suitable career pathways available at Central Carolina Community College. 
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office, computer-literacy skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Knowledge of social media and marketing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and/or experience with college onboarding/recruitment/admissions, or strongly-related experience. 
  • Colleague/Datatel experience. 
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English).

The Coordinator of Student Onboarding and Outreach/CTE programs works on the Student Onboarding and Outreach Team, specifically working to increase enrollment in CTE (Career and Technical Education) programs at Central Carolina Community College.  

Some travel throughout the month to other CCCC campus locations required.  Outreach events that require some nights and weekends are required.

 Essential Duties:

  • Assist with career and technical student outreach initiatives and assist with the development and implementation of strategies that help to bridge student academic needs and goals with career and technical programs at the College. The ultimate goal will be to provide students with strong experiences in and an understanding of all aspects of industry and career and technical education pathways 
  • Assist Student Onboarding and Outreach (SOO) team with developing strategic recruitment and outreach methods in/out of service area to increase enrollment in career and technical education programs. 
  • Help to meet recruitment goals through continuous training and measurement of key performance indicators in career and technical programs at the College. 
  • Assist as needed with registration events, graduation ceremonies, college orientations, etc., in collaboration with the Student Services Division and College Success Center team. 
  • Design and deliver oral presentations, virtual presentations, and community outreach activities, events and campus tours for high school, middle and elementary school programs and community groups.  
  • Work with campus partners to ensure that prospective students and applicants receive regular communication from the College.
  • Initiate and maintain positive relations with feeder high schools, middle and elementary school administrators, counselors, and faculty and with local businesses, public agencies and community groups that have an interested in partnering with educations. 
  • Work diligently and collaboratively with high school counselors and administrators to provide higher education services to high school students that include but not limited to assistance with admissions, financial aid, early enrollment and dual credit enrollment. 
  • Serve on College committees as assigned.
  • Complete five hours of professional development, annually.
  • Encourage and support College activities, policies, procedures, and philosophies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
