Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business or other related area
  • A minimum of three years' experience in teaching or educational administration
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Skill in the use of MS Office programs
  • Skill in the use of computers and a commitment to the use of technology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Experience with community college continuing education, non-credit programs
  • Experience in corporate sales or marketing

Position Description

 

SUMMARY:

The Coordinator of Workforce and Corporate Training is a full-time, 12-month position that is responsible for working with businesses in Davidson and Davie counties to meet their training needs for current and prospective employees.  The position reports to the Dean of Workforce and Continuing Education.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and implements courses and programs tailored to meet the training and employee development needs of companies
  • Works with the Director, Customized Training & Workforce Development to meet the needs of the business community
  • Coordinates classes to offer for individuals in partnership with Goodwill Industries, Davidson Works, and the community
  • Facilitates processes to ensure compliance with all College policies and procedures Identifies feasible occupational extension course offerings, sets up courses, selects course materials, facilitates development of course syllabi, and evaluates course and instruction
  • Hires and orients instructors
  • Assists in the development of marketing materials and marketing programs to the community
  • Promotes instructional approaches to foster student learning and effective teaching
  • Develops and maintains relationships with state and county agencies
  • Participates with other CE coordinators and directors in program planning
  • Maintains currency with local, state and federal guidelines
  • Participates in College and School meetings
  • Works evenings and weekends as needed to facilitate program activities
  • Performs other duties that support the mission, vision, values and initiatives of the College
