Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in psychology, sociology, or education. Preferred: Master's degree
Knowledge and Skills: Two years of experience in education, human resources, training and development, event planning, or program planning. Strong computer skills; budget and communication skills; marketing; work experience in event planning, education, healthcare, or related area; Publisher and inDesign skills.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift 10 to 24 pounds when assisting in setting up events or exhibits; ability to move from building to building on and off campus; Preferred: the ability to drive students to off-campus meetings or field locations.
Licensing Requirement: Valid driver's license is required. Preferred: Valid NC Class B or C driver's license with both "S" (School bus) and "P" (passenger) endorsements.

Position Description
Carteret Community College is accepting applications for a full-time Youth Camps and Community Programs Coordinator. Benefits include paid leave, paid holidays, low-cost health insurance, low-cost optional insurance such as vision and dental, and pension.
The Youth Camps and Community Programs Coordinator will oversee the programming and implementation of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM) camps for middle and high school-age students. The Coordinator will also oversee the programming and implementation of community workshops and seminars through our network of partner community sites.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Work with College administration, faculty, and community leaders to create and administer a county-wide activities plan for events that fosters learning, student engagement, and community enrichment.
- Foster engagement in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) camps, the Scott Eckholdt Summer Camp and other camps for diverse and underrepresented student populations to expose students to careers in our service area.
- Work with local public schools, children’s organizations, and campus resources to plan and promote an annual calendar of focused camps.
- Responsible for all elements of planning summer camp programs to including scheduling, liability insurance, coordination for medical needs of participants, transportation and contingency planning for potential emergencies.
- Facilitate and oversee camp enrollment and communication with parents regarding camp safety and logistics.
- Work with faculty and community to plan activities that are appropriate and engaging to the identified age group, as well as to secure camp instructors.
- Foster community engagement in marine sciences, applied sciences, and community health-related seminars and workshops in our service area.
- Work with local marine sciences, applied sciences, and healthcare networks, community health organizations, and campus resources to plan and promote an annual calendar of youth camps and community workshops and seminars.
- Facilitate and oversee workshop and seminar enrollment and communication with offsite locations regarding logistics of offerings.
- Work with faculty and community resources to plan workshops and speakers for Carteret Links programming that provide information and education relative to community needs.
- Develop, implement, and direct procedures and guidelines for Youth Camps and community programs that support Carteret CC policies and procedures.
- Develop and oversee the annual budget and goals and objectives for youth camps and Carteret Links programming.
- Design and implement a communication plan for the promotion of programming, coordinated with the Director, Marketing and Public Information to ensure brand consistency.
- Evaluate outcomes from activities and programs to ensure that the needs of a diverse student and county population are being met through statistical reports, surveys, and other records to assess accomplishments, appropriate learning outcomes, and user satisfaction.
- Serve on College committees and task forces as assigned.
- Attend required campus events including graduation, professional development, & employee meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors depending on the location of events. The ability to adjust working hours upon occasion to attend evening and weekend events is important.
