Minimum Qualifications

Associate Degree in Electrical Systems Technology or a minimum of 5 years of Electrical experience Must able to speak, write, and understand English and Spanish. Must be knowledgeable in AC/DC theory, basic wiring practices, programmable logic controllers, industrial motor controls, and National Electric Code.

Communication, both oral and written, skills necessary. Must have expert efficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). Extensive experience, well documented in the application packet, may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience at the community college or four-year college. Virtual teaching experience.
State of North Carolina Unlimited Electrical Contractors License. Working knowledge of electrical systems, schematic drawings, troubleshooting, and NFPA 70E Electrical Safety would be a plus.

Position Description

The ability to speak, write, and understand English and Spanish are required.

Provide quality general classroom and clinical lab instruction both online and in a traditional setting.

Assist in the design and update of course syllabi, outlines, and lesson plans.

Teach face-to-face and virtual classes to include days, evenings, and weekends.

Incorporate latest instructional technologies in course delivery and utilize interactive learning technologies to engage students in the teaching and learning process.

Recruit students for the program.

Advise students who are in the program or aspire to be in the program.

Monitor and improve student retention.

Maintain class records, input grades, and attendance into Webadvisor.

Provide recommendations for other classes to the Department Chair and Dean of Corporate & Industry Training.

Evaluate classroom instruction and make necessary improvements.

Provide quality customer service to students, faculty, and staff.

Continually develop and improve skills through professional development.

Participate in faculty committees and other activities, as assigned.
