Minimum Qualifications

·        High school diploma or equivalent

·        Two years’ experience in an educational or business setting 

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), electronic calendaring, data entry, and accurate record-keeping skills

·        Must have strong organizational skills with a high degree of detail orientation and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

·        Must possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

·        Must possess driver’s license and have the ability to travel to class locations daily as needed

Preferred Qualifications

·        Associate degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution 

·        Manufacturing experience

·        Experience with workforce development initiatives, continuing education, business and industry, or adult education in a post-secondary institution

·        Administrative/secretarial experience

Position Description

Job Description

The Corporate Education Project Specialist is a full-time position located primarily at the Tyson Family Center for Technology in Monroe, NC. Under the direction of the Corporate Education Director, the Project Specialist is responsible for assisting the Corporate Education team in developing, implementing, and evaluating courses and programs. The position will provide administrative support for corporate education training programs and initiatives. 

Job Duties

·        Promote corporate and customized training internally and externally by developing strong relationships; marketing programs at community events and civic organizations; developing and distributing promotional materials; updating social media posts; and participating in job fairs, career days, employee orientations; and performing other duties as assigned.

·        Travel to company locations as needed to start training sessions, pick up paperwork, deliver paperwork and attend meetings. 

·        Create, update and maintain training registrations, training rosters, training files, and training calendars.

·        Type and compose letters, memos, course documents, handouts, and flyers.  Create and maintain computerized mailing lists for special mailings.  Carry out special projects aimed at further automation of various office functions.

·        Assist with maintaining program budgets in collaboration with the Director of Corporate Education. 

·        Serve as liaison between part-time instructors and the CTP team for registration and obtaining supplies, books, forms, etc.  Assist instructors at employer sites and within the College with attendance, obtaining teaching aids, audio-visual equipment, keys, and other items, as necessary.  

·        Assist in processing contracts for payroll. 

·        In collaboration with the Industry and CTP team, establish and maintain scheduling for courses and programs.  Notify campus security of schedules and locations for room unlocks.  Collect and distribute various College and course forms including, but not limited to, contracts, evaluations, etc.  

·        Assist with administering evaluations of courses and programs for quality assurance and improvement opportunities.

·        Requisition and request materials to be printed. Review printed materials for accuracy and distribute as per the established plan.

·        Participate in College functions, departmental, divisional and College-wide meetings and committees as appropriate.

·        Adheres to state guidelines on Customized Training Program, and assist with annual reporting.

·        Maintain a high standard of professional and ethical practice in representing the College. 

·        Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and/or confidential information.

·        Other duties as assigned.
