Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Counseling, Education, Human Services, or related field from an accredited college or university. Proficiency with Word and Excel. Accuracy in maintaining assessment records and providing reports is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
2-3 years of experience with the NC Community College System. Knowledge in Disability services and/or Title IX. Experience with Colleague and AVISO/Watermark systems. Bi-lingual encouraged.
Position Description
The Counselor/Title IX Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of counseling students and compliance with Title IX and Disability Services for Montgomery Community College. Coordinates the individual and group counseling services that support current and prospective community college students in meeting their career development, personal, educational and academic goals. Administers and interprets career inventories. Conducts classroom workshops for personal and career development. Provides supportive counseling and refers students as needed to local and state support agencies. Serves as Title IX Coordinator and ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and laws regarding student admissions, counseling, record keeping, ADA services and FERPA. Coordinate retention and student success efforts for students with excessive absences, behavioral and emotional needs, and unsatisfactory performance in the classroom. Coordinates the onboarding, scheduling and monthly timesheet submission for tutoring staff.
