Minimum Qualifications

 
Requirements:
 
Associate's degree
 
Five to seven years of related experience in Accounting
 

Preferred Qualifications

Preferences: 

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business

Basic working knowledge of Datatel/Colleague/Ellucian software

Software reporting program skills such as Entrinsik Informer or similar system

MS Excel certification 

Position Description

This position will handle all budget related processes for county funds (operating and construction).  This position will also serve as a liaison between Financial Services, Facilities, ITS and Wake County Budget staff.  This position uses the College's Administrative System, Informer and Excel to post budget journal entries, make expense transfers and run reports.
 

Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

*Assists VP of Financial & Business Services with annual budget journal entries.
 
*Monitors budgets, prepare and distribute monthly budget reports, monitor; prepare expenditure corrections and budget transfers as requested by budget managers
 
*Provides training to budget managers and other administrative staff
 
*Creates budget codes for new departments/units in Colleague; provide access to Human Resources for new budget codes needed for position codes
 
*Downloads, reviews and reconciles construction activity with Wake county Capital Improvement Program balances; prepares and submits construction invoice reimbursement requests
 
*Collaborates with key stakeholders in the development of the annual county budget request and Capital Improvement Program updates
 
Interfaces and attends meetings with County Budget staff as necessary. Communicates with County Budget staff regarding operating budget and Capital Improvement Program issues
 
Prepares journal entries for Electronic Funds Transfers, reconciles bank statements, posts journal entries for interest income and any other reconciling items as needed
 
Prepares and distributes weekly purchase order detail reports; provides assistance as needed with the status of purchase orders
 
Monitors and reviews fixed asset reports for accuracy and ensures all assets are entered in Datatel, prepares depreciation schedules for all fixed asset categories, prepares all journal entries related to fixed asset additions, deletions, building capitalizations and depreciation expenses
 
Prepares monthly expenditure reports for customized training projects to ensure all invoices are paid and posted to the correct projects, prepares expense transfers between projects, calculates 10% administrative allowance on all project expenditures and prepares voucher to record the administrative allowance
 
Distributes Managed Print and other costs to departments as necessary, prepares and posts journal entries for state funded departments, prepares voucher for institutional and county funded departments

Conducts P-Card review and post activity

Completes an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or a group basis
