Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications or Marketing related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Three years of experience in a communications or marketing related field.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with event planning.
- Photography experience or willingness to learn.

Salary commensurate with education and experience.
The Creative Assistant is responsible for writing communications for internal and external use, social media management, and providing support to the Graphic Designer/Webmaster and Director, Communications and Marketing in completing communications/marketing projects in support of the college's goals and objectives.
The Creative Assistant will be supervised by the Director, Communications and Marketing.
Examples of Duties:
- Proof all print and web materials for proper spelling, punctuation and accuracy.
- Work with team to assist with project timeline.
- Assist with archive of communications and marketing related items
- Assist with printing needs..
- Assist with photography when needed.
- Assist with event planning.
- Work with campus liaisons for news related information.
- Assist with purchasing and finance related tasks.
- Support the Office of Communications and Marketing with weekly/monthly news and information submissions for various outlets such as newspaper, Chamber of Commerce, newsletters, etc.
- Manage all social media content, ensuring it is promptly posted, accurate, positive, representative of all campuses, and relevant to the college's goals and objectives.
- Develop daily social media postings.
- Monitor and respond to social media messages.
- Manage social media reviews.
- Monitor all departmental/program/campus social media pages to confirm COA's social media policy is followed.
- Work closely with the Director, Communications and Marketing with regard to social media management and analytics.
- Support the Graphic Designer/Webmaster with advertising, publications, promotional items, printing and photography as needed.
- Support the Office of Communications and Marketing as needed in the event of a college emergency.
- Participate actively in Inclement Weather procedures when needed.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with key team members and departments for any public relation needs including, but not limited to event planning.
